In the first episode he looks at the setting up of Hampshire Constabulary's first SmartWater Zone in Portsmouth. SmartWater is a bit like DNA and is used to mark property in a very unique way. It has had a big effect on deterring criminals in other parts of the UK where it's been used as it can be traced back easily. An awards night was held for the winners at Portsmouth Landmark Spinnaker tower in February 2008.
